We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who wants to help us build scalable, high-performance systems and shape the future of our backend architecture.

This role can be performed remotely or from our Malta office (hybrid model).

Responsibilities

Your day-to-day will include:

• Designing and developing backend features on a highly scalable and resilient platform

• Contributing to the evolution of a modern microservices architecture

• Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code with a strong focus on performance and reliability

• Participating in architectural decisions and technology selection

• Working in a test-driven development environment

• Collaborating closely with developers, QA engineers, and product teams

• Performing code reviews and ensuring high engineering standards

• Analysing functional requirements and translating them into technical solutions

• Managing your own priorities, deadlines, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment

• Continuously improving systems through monitoring, optimisation, and best practicesHow you’ll collaborate:

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a backend software engineer, and master Python or Go as a programming language  

• You are familiar with DevOps practices and containerization technologies on cloud-based environments 

• You have experience in distributed systems and micro service architectures 

• You have a proventrack recordfrom working with heavy transactional systems  

• You care about software quality; you care about software engineering, and you want to make a difference 

• You have good attention to detail 

• You can work with minimal supervision 

• You have a good command of both verbal and written English 

• Having a degree in Information Technology or another related field would be considered an advantage
